I Am Enough (Poetry)

Art done by my mother, April Ryan:

~~~ ~~~ ~~~
I am enough; I can do it all.
I stand back up every time I fall.
I run towards the fire; I swallow up the flames.
I fly even higher; I win all the games.
~~~ ~~~ ~~~

I do what I want; I try all I can.

I give all I got; I am who I am.

~~ ~~~ ~~~

I run all the races…

…I kiss babies faces

Define social graces…

…And defy small places.

~~~ ~~~ ~~~
Outside is my refuge.
Music is my prelude.
Writing is my shrink.
Passion is my ink.
~~~ ~~~ ~~~

I walked through the sea and left my shame behind.

It tried to follow me, but it washed away in time.

I stumbled through the valleys and questioned all my doubts.

I walked down dark allies and always came out.

~~~ ~~~ ~~~
I climbed that mountain; I wrestled that bear.
I faced that journey; I slayed my fear.
~~~ ~~~ ~~~

I finish what I start.

I trust my heart.

I am my art.

I create my part.

~~~ ~~~~ ~~~
I am enough because God put me here.
I defeat my giants; I wear my tear.
I lead the nations on my vacations.
I prioritize my human-relations.
~~~ ~~~ ~~~

Anything at all is possible for me.

I am enough; a bird set free.
