A Way To Feed Starving Children & Put Dinner On Your Own Table Too (Guest Post by Pastor Daniel Whitworth)

I have never been involved in nor ever been interested in any kind of network or multilevel marketing or direct sales. Never had time for it, and usually thought they were scams and the products overpriced and not needed.
~~~
Plus, I am not a salesman by any stretch of the imagination.
~~~
I was invited to listen in on a sales call by a friend who has been involved in many of these kinds of things. He had tried to sell me on a few at different times, but I never was interested.
~~~
This time he asked me to listen, not to buy anything, but as a “sanity check” because he trusted my opinion. He wanted to know if this thing was too good to be true.  So, as a favor to him, I listened, not expecting to ever get that hour of my life back.
~~~
What I heard in that call shocked me.
~~~
From what I could tell, this was a company like Tom’s Shoes – that wanted to solve a world problem in a different way than starting a non-profit and asking for donations.
~~~
The guy who started it had been involved in direct sales for years and had done very well for himself, and he wanted to take the same model and apply it to solving the problem of global childhood malnutrition – which affects some 165 million children worldwide.
~~~
As I listened, I was impressed but still very skeptical. I said to myself, “If this thing is legitimate, then this is a brilliant way to tackle this problem. But is it really going to do what it says? This would also be a brilliant way to dupe a bunch of people out of their money, by pulling on their heart strings.” This is what I told my friend. Then he invited me to an event at his house a week or so later to actually meet the founder and CEO. I decided to go, because if it really was real – then I must get involved!
~~~
I went and got to meet the founder. He seemed like a great guy. I got to talk with him personally and ask how I could know it was real. He explained a few things that helped. The next day they were doing a training session and I decided to go. I got to hear his heart for three hours and I was convinced. Here was a solid Christian man who made millions in direct sales, who came to a point where he’d played with all of the toys and knew there was more to life.
~~~
He came across this enormous issue and his heart was broken. Here he had spent nearly twenty years selling nutritional products to people who didn’t need them, all the while millions of children are starving to death.
~~~
He sold his businesses and fronted millions of dollars to get Zilis started before anyone had signed up, and now he is sharing it with the world.
~~~
I’ve since had the opportunity to have more conversations with him and have done significant research on my own and have become convinced that this is real and is a very good thing. Now I am an ambassador and even plan on getting the church I pastor involved.
~~~
This is not about making money, but about feeding the least of these. The financial benefit simply makes doing this possible.
~~~
If there were no financial incentive, then unfortunately it would have to fall in line with many other worthy causes because most people simply don’t have time to save the world and take care of their families. That’s just the way things are. But this brilliant model, instead of paying some large advertising firm, it pays individuals to spread the word – which will make it spread so much faster.
~~~
I believe in this product, and I believe in this company.
~~~
From the top down and the whole rewards plan it is obvious that the goal is not riches, but to make a difference in the lives of so many helpless children. I hope that many others will see this great need and decide to help do something about it.
